In 1986, at the age of 26, David became a partner in the firm and by 1993 he was the managing partner of the firm. As the founding partners and the next generation of partners retired, the firm subsequently changed the name to Dorfman & Associates, LLP while continuing to serve its diversified clientele in the same personal manner that was instilled by the founders.

David provides a wide array of tax services to closely held and family owned businesses, in the real estate, construction, manufacturing, import and export and leisure activity industries. The clients that he serves are located within and outside the United States. David prides himself in being able to simplify even the most complex issues. A skilled negotiator, David has helped numerous clients in buying and selling their businesses. David also specializes in estate planning and has worked closely with his clients and their attorneys in the process of drafting wills and various trusts.

In order to better assist clients in making investment decisions David has studied for and earned the designation of Personal Financial Specialists (PFS), a designation which only a select few CPA’s have earned. In addition David is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New Jersey State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. David graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brooklyn College with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. David is a CPA in both New Jersey and New York.

Steve has extensive experience in dealing with the business community in matters that include structuring transactions, financing and financial analysis and “visionary thinking.” Steve has a broad background in the taxation and accounting areas for companies in the healthcare, technology, manufacturing, transportation, publishing, advertising, real estate, and entertainment industries. A perfectionist and excellent negotiator, Steve’s forte lies in his unparalleled ability to deal with complex transactions that develop into life altering events for the clients.

He has lectured extensively for many professional and trade organizations and frequently appears on television and radio as a financial commentator.

Steve is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Technology Council. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Brooklyn College as well as a Master’s degree in Taxation from Pace University. Steve is a CPA in both New Jersey and New York.

Fred’s clients range from multi-national corporations to high net worth individuals to sole proprietors. His clientele operates in the real estate, wholesale trade, media and professional services industries among others. Fred has significant experience in overseeing the accounting function for absentee-owned businesses in varied industries.

Fred has extensive experience with partnership taxation, including structuring partnership and operating agreements and implementing complex special allocation provisions for limited liability companies. A tireless advocate for his clients, Fred is frequently called upon to negotiate investment terms for new client ventures.

In the area of real estate, Fred has extensive experience in providing tax, consulting and accounting services to his clients. His residential, commercial and industrial real estate clients include home builders, adaptive re-use developers, syndicated real estate investment funds, hotel owner/operators, and income producing portfolios.

Fred is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Fred graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Fred is a CPA in New York.
