David Dorfman, Certified Public Accountant, is a Partner at Dorfman Mizrach & Thaler, LLP, a boutique accounting and consulting firm. David began his career in 1980 when he joined the New York City CPA firm of Apt, Kaplan, Glickman & Company, whose roots date back to 1937.
In 1986, at the age of 26, David became a partner in the firm and by 1993 he was the managing partner of the firm. With the retirement of more senior partners and after a merger, the firm subsequently changed the name to Dorfman Mizrach & Thaler LLP while continuing to serve its diversified clientele in the same personal manner that was instilled by the founders.
David provides a wide array of tax services to closely held and family owned businesses, in the real estate, construction, manufacturing, import and export and leisure activity industries. The clients that he serves are located within and outside the United States. David prides himself in being able to simplify even the most complex issues. A skilled negotiator, David has helped numerous clients in buying and selling their businesses. David also specializes in estate planning and has worked closely with his clients and their attorneys in the process of drafting wills and various trusts.
In order to better assist clients in making investment decisions David has studied for and earned the designation of Personal Financial Specialists (PFS), a designation which only a select few CPA’s have earned. In addition David is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New Jersey State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. David graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brooklyn College with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. David is a CPA in both New Jersey and New York.
